Remembering Rachel Corrie

Rachel Corrie was murdered six years ago today, March 16th, 2003. The absence of an investigation into her death is proof enough that it was a wrongful killing. Rest in peace Rachel. You are remembered. Your work was not in vain, nor was your death. You have caused many people to gather around the causes that you believed in and which you fought for.

  1. There was an investigation. It was ruled an accident. You are spreading hate, not peace. You continue to be completely full of shit.

  2. Wow, Berd. You've reported an undeniable falsehood and managed to be totally illogical in a single paragraph.

There was an investigation. Now, you can claim it was biased, half-hearted, even dishonest, but whatever you claim, it cannot be that there was not an investigation. There was.

Then, the absense of an investigation "is proof enough"?
Can you please refer me to the investigation of whether or not Hamas used women and children as human shields in the recent conflict? If there wasn't, then, OBVIOUSLY, that is "proof enough" that it occured. Are you embarassed for yourself, yet? If not now, when?

An investigation conducted by a branch of the Israeli judiciary concluded that Rachel Corrie, who was in a CLOSED military zone and interfering with IDF operational activities, was killed by accident.

"The driver at no point saw or heard Corrie," a military source said. "She was standing behind debris which obstructed the view of the driver and the driver had a very limited field of vision due to the protective cage he was working in."

"The driver and his commanders were interrogated extensively over a long period of time with the use of polygraph tests and video evidence. They had no knowledge that she was standing in the path of the tractor. An autopsy of Corrie's body revealed that the cause of death was from falling debris and not from the tractor physically rolling over her," the source stated.

"It was a tragic accident that never should have happened," the source said.

"The International Solidarity Movement, to which Corrie belonged, was directly responsible for illegal behavior and conduct in the area of Corrie's death and their actions directly led to this tragedy," the source concluded.

  3. I have heard that there wasn't an investigation. I am only reporting what I have heard. And frankly, I believe what I have heard more than some anonymous critic who posts inflammatory and offensive rhetoric on my blog.

As far as responding to what you wrote of an investigation by the Israeli Military. I would hardly call the Israeli Military an unbiased entity, or the appropriate agency to conduct an investigation.

Investigation by Israeli Military is not what is needed. What is needed is an unbiased investigation into her death.

Besides, the Israeli military is known for systematic lies and spreading deliberate falsehoods.

  4. Thanks, your blog reminds me...A list of a few Rachels proudly murdered on purpose(and then later celebrated) by the arab palestinian terrorists who were Rachel Corrie's friends. No investigation needed, as there were no denials and no apologies. It was a recurring event--as opposed to something that had not happened before and has not happened since (similar to most accidents). As a peace activits, we must remember all victims.

Rachel Thaler, 16, was enjoying dinner with her
14-year old brothers and friends at an Israeli
pizzeria when a palestinian bomber detonated
    himself at the restaurant.

Rachel Levi, 19, murdered when a Palestinian
rammed a bus into a crowded Israel bus stop,
killing Rachel and five others on February 14, 2001.

    Rachel Levy, 17, was a high-school student
who was killed when a Palestinian suicide
bomber detonated herself at an Israeli supermarket.
Her death came on the heels of the death of Rachel's
cousin one month earlier in a terrorist shooting.

Rachel Charhi, 36, was killed when a
Palestinian terrorist detonated himself in a
café in Israel on April 4, 2002.

Rachel Gavish, 50, was murdered by a Palestinian
terrorist who infiltrated her home in Israel,
shooting dead Rachel, her husband David,
    her son and Rachel's father.

Rachel Kol, 53, who worked for 20 years
in the neurology lab at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Hospital,
was murdered with her husband in a drive-by shooting by the Fatah.

Rachel Ben Abu, 16, killed with her teenage friends by a suicide
bomber at the Netanya shopping mall, in July 2005 (in the midst
    of a supposed Palestinian truce)

Rachel Shabo, 40, (top right) and three of her sons
were murdered on June 20, 2002 when a Palestinian
terrorist entered the family home and opened fire.
