This is The Evergreen State College Beach, which is on Eld Inlet. Eld Inlet is at the very Southernmost portion of The Puget Sound. This region has one of the highest tidal fluctuations in the world. Tides regularly differentiate the water level by about 17 feet daily.

The black and white one is much more mysterious, arty. maybe that's because we are conditioned by Ansel Adams.
